Sacramental Preparation 2026
Reconciliation:
Y3 were prepared for their reconciliation during Lent. Children prepare during this liturgical season because it explicitly mirrors the sacrament's core themes of repentance, spiritual renewal, and preparing one's heart for the resurrection of Jesus at Easter. Congratulations to all of the children on receiving this beautiful sacrament!
First Holy Communion:
Catholic children receive the sacrament of the Eucharist (First Holy Communion) to grow closer to Jesus and fully join the life of the Church.
- True Presence: Catholics believe the consecrated bread and wine truly become the Body and Blood of Jesus, not just a symbol.
- Spiritual Food: Receiving Communion gives children spiritual strength and nourishment for their faith.
- Deep Friendship: It creates a special, personal bond between the child and Jesus.
Y4 made their First Holy Communion on 16th May, 2026.

Confirmation:
Y6 were confirmed by the Bishop in June this year.
Catholic children receive the sacrament of Confirmation to deepen their bond with the Church and receive the special strength of the Holy Spirit. The sacrament gives the recipient the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, right judgment (counsel), courage (fortitude), knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. These gifts provide spiritual strength to live a holy life. It empowers individuals to act as bold witnesses for Jesus Christ in the world. Our children live these fruits through their every day actions and words, every time they demonstrate our key virtues. Well done everyone!
