Please do telephone us to enquire about admission to the school and discuss your circumstances. You are most welcome to come and look round our lovely school, please telephone for an appointment.
We consider all applications and do have places cropping up during the school year as pupils move between schools and locations. We offer places to pupils against the admission criteria and are pleased to talk about your application with you at any time. In year applications should be submitted directly to school through this form here. In addition to this, a supplementary information form should also be completed and given to school.
There is a timetable for the admissions process and more information is available on Bradford Schools Online (https://bso.bradford.gov.uk/content/admissions).

Reception Admissions
Reception 2025:
Please come and visit our school! To give you an idea of what being in school is like for your young children, we have arranged a series of 'Stay & Plays' where you can come with your child and stay and play with them in school! They will have the opportunity to play with the children and explore the classroom and outdoor play area. You will be able to talk to the staff and ask any questions you have.
Stay & Play dates:
6th, 20th and 28th November, 9:30-10:30am
We also have dates where you can just come and look around the school and talk to the Head and the staff and have an opportunity to ask any questions.
The Open Days are:
14th November, 9:30-10:30am and 1:30-2:30pm and 5-6pm.
The City of Bradford MBC is responsible for coordinating the allocation of school places in Bradford. They provide detailed information about the application process. You can access that information here. In addition to this, a supplementary information form must be completed. The Supplementary Information Form (SIF) must be submitted to school by the closing date as advised by City of Bradford MBC. When you log onto the Bradford website to apply for a school place, there is also a copy of the SIF that you can download there (or you can find it above with the policy). If you do not complete a SIF, your child will be placed in the non-Catholics category. We are a Catholic school and our admissions policy prioritises Catholic admissions so please do not forget to complete the form if your child is baptised.
For Reception admission September 2025, your application must be received by Bradford by 15 January 2025. There is an information booklet here that explains how to go about this: Applying for a Primary School - Detailed Guide for September 2024 Entry (bradford.gov.uk) This information sheet is a step by step guide to application: Applying For primary school step by step booklet for September 2024 entry (bradford.gov.uk)
Please also send your completed SIFs to school by 15th January 2024 if your child is baptised.
On 16th April 2025 parents who applied online will receive emails confirming their allocated school. Those who applied via a paper copy will have their allocation posted to them via Royal Mail. Where the allocated school is not the highest ranked school, the email/letter will explain the reasons why. The email/letter will also inform parents about the waiting lists and their statutory rights of appeal against the decisions to refuse places at their preferred schools.
Parents must accept the place offered by completing and returning an acceptance slip to the allocated school. Waiting list forms must be returned to the Admissions Team by the same date - this date will be on your offer letter.
Appeals received by the deadline date will be heard within 40 school days during June and July, in accordance with the School Appeals Code of Practice
Appeals
If you are unsuccessful in gaining a place at St Joseph's, you are entitled to make an appeal.
In year applications (out of the normal Reception application round, or for other year groups):
We will aim to respond to an in year application in writing, explaining why your request for a place has been unsuccessful within 10 working days, but no later than 15 working days. This letter will include information about how to appeal for a place.

Please read our appeals timetable for further information. You will only be able to appeal
for a school you have applied for and you will only be able to add your child’s name to the waiting list of a school you preferenced or other undersubscribed schools.
